I got the stage 1 air cleaner on today and got the stage 1 download. Gave me a chance to ride for about a hour and I love the tone. I think they are plenty loud for touring I think.
I still have a big smile on my face from the ride with them.
Yep, another MO fan here. GREAT sounding. Nice low tone and just the right amount of volume I think. I surely wouldn't call them quiet though like some others have stated. You will love these pipes if anyone is thinking of them. I like the big beefy look of them also.
Piece of cake. Remove your saddlebags, then you loosen the (1) muffler clamp as much as possible and then the two bolts holding the mufller on in the rear. You might want to spary the front of the slip on to help loosen it a little and then grab onto the muffler and start twisting it and pulling it off the headpipe. Soetime it's stubborn but be patient and keep twisting it back & forth and it will come. Once you have it off I take a little hand/dishwasing soap and put a little on the end of the headpipe and on the inside of your new muffler, which makes it slip on easier. Put your exhaust clamp back on and then work it all the way up on the headpipe and then reinstall and tighten the two bolts at the rear and then tighten down the exhaust clamp. The directions in your new mufflers will tell you everything you need to know.
Just ordered mine today, anybody else have any more pics or suggestions?
It takes some trial & error to get them straight and even from the back but an easy install.
Just tighten down the rear bolts first, then tighten the muffler clamp so its somewhat tight where the pipe does not move on its own but loose enough so you can twist the pipe to get it level. Use a rubber hammer to tap the pipes back into the head pipes so their even. I removed the end tips before tapping them back and reversed the tips on the install.
Do I dare even ask where to find the cheapest price for these?
I usually get my exhausts from Eastern performance, they show them for 639.95, anything lower?
