I actually found THAT place about an hour ago and ordered. Just before reading this post. $271 shipped. Not bad.

So thanks anyway! Funny how I ended up there...

I hope the rear fits. I went with the 160.

"Tubeless" means they can be used with or without a tube. All tires sold by HD are tubeless tires, but require tubes on unsealed laced rims.

For those interested in purchasing tires in the near future, Ron Ayers has free shipping on all orders of $100 or more till Jan. 4th. They currently have the MU90-16 rear for $116.88 and the MT90-16 front for $104.20.

I have the MU90-16 and don't notice any cosmetic issues, as they are only .01" taller than stock and .4" shorter than the 160's you installed. They are also .06" wider but neither dimension will cause clearance problems on newer bikes with 1" axles. What issues did you see with the MU90-16 on the rear?

I've had a rear installed now for about 8k miles and it is wearing over 50% better than the D402's I had installed previously. Performance is excellent in wet or dry, it doesn't wander on road imperfections like the D402 does, and for my needs I declare it a winner. It's lack of "approval" by the Moco is irrelevant to me, as if you'll recall they didn't approve synthetic oil till they started selling their store brand. They don't really "approve" anything that they don't sell.
iclick:

Yes, the rear 160/80 fit, with the closest point of contact being the belt guard, but that isn't an issue with the clearance I have. I was skeptical, as was the mechanic who actually did the install, but the tire sales/service guy had done this before on other Ultra's and has had good luck and response from his customers.

My wheels are not stock -- but they are stock size for '05 Ultras. I have the rolled chrome spoked wheels from HD. So far, so good on the tires. I think it is an upgrade well worth the money.

The 160 will only fit some of the bikes depending on year, is this correct? I have a 99 Ultra & have been told that the 140 is the biggest I can go. I am also running Metzlers.

I am old enough to have lived thru this radial VS bia tire debate with American built cars, I had a Pontiac that I put radials on in spite of all the advise against it------- the tires "hunted" for a week or so before they settled down----radial user since!!!!!!!

Wow, these Elite 3s were sounding good until I saw they don't have white walls!

Any suggestions for an 07? My rear stock Dunlop wore out at about 8500 miles.

Go with the E3, you will get use the black. Just think no more scrubbing white walls. I had 14,000 on my last rear E3.
