anyone running thundercones have any comments on them, some say they blue and rust very fast, quality has dropped in the last few years. Looking for a better sound but dont want to buy trash.......
I'm not sure about the quality dropping, I know a couple people that are running them and they don't seem to have any blueing problems that I have seen. They are the best sounding muffler out there that I have heard. The only reason I don't have them is that I just can't seem to get over the looks of the cone shape at the end.
Had them on my 2000 Road King. Didn't care for them...sound or finish.
My V&H Classics however...they're sounding better and better as time goes by. I've compared them side by side with other pipes, and short of true duals I haven't found a set of slip-ons that I like the sound of better. Finish is good quality too.
I had them - they sound incredible and loud. Mine did not rust or blue.
I know others will disagree but I still believe if the bike has a correct tune you will not experience that problem. The photo shows the mufflers with over 20K on them when I sold them.
