I am looking for Red bulbs for my rear turn signals. I want to get rid of the red lenses and go with smoked lenses, but because i am using the brake light/turn signal conversion kit, i need them to be red. Anyone know what number bulb i will need?
Also, if i chose to do LED bulbs, would i need a load limiter if only used on the rear turn signals?
Yeah, but i need red bulbs due to the fact they act as brake lights as well. I have clear lenses, but will be using smoked lenses. I just need the red bulbs as opposed to the amber ones.
Just installed the run/brake/turn light module the other day. I also have the smoked lenses. When to the auto parts store and got a couple red led replacement bulbs that replace the standard 1156 bulbs. Worked great for me.
I also noticed that you can order standard 1156 red bulbs online.

I went that route with red bulbs and smoked lenses and found them to be insufficient. I also have the turn signal kit, so I went with LED's in my signals. In fact, I have LED's front and rear but I also have additional LED light applications on my scoot and I don't have a load limiter. I can't say for sure about your intended application.
cool, so they are 1156 bulbs, i think thats what i needed to know. I'd prefer the LED just for brightness, as i do have the LED brake light as well. Looks like i have a trip to the autoparts in my future.
I did the clear lenses with the Red and Yellow LED's from Kuryakin.
the change from clear lens to a bright amber brings more attention to the turnsignal than going from a smoked lense to amber

some of the 1156 replacement led are not very bright at all. stick it behind a smoked lens and they can be very hard to see. if you do get one, be sure the store has a decent return policy, if you don't think its bright enough, return it.
