I know I am not the first one with this problem. The tach is starting to get the "haze" on the inside at a certain sunlight angle. The Speedometer has got a hint of it. If I buy a used one I am guessing the mileage is "stored" in the unit, not the bike. Example I have 18,000 on mine. replace it off a bike with 10,000 it will show 10,000 or default to my bike's mileage?
I know they are sealed but has anyone attempted to open it to clean and reseal it?
I have the same problems with my fuel gauge and volt gauge , they are the only two gauges that do this, but not long after riding they both appear to become foggy looking about half way up the gauge and then clear up later , anyone have this problem, these are on an 2006 Ultra . Why would they do it and only those two ??
Mine started with just a couple then graduated to all of them. When they dry out I don't see any residue, but they fog up every time the weather changes or it rains or I wash the bike. It really sucks.
Come to think of it I read something somewhere about drilling a small hole in the back of the gauge somewhere. Not an option for me at this point.
