Default Chrome rotors

My dealer is doing chrome lowers on my bike and just called and said they'd give me a deal on chrome rotors if I wanted them (they must be slow this time of year in Ohio). Any disadvantages of chrome rotors? Bike is an 08 RKC.

Look at teh chrome in the sunlight, am not happy with the teardrop rotor finish on mine, like the floater but will be sending out to get stripped and polished by chrome pros.

I just called the dealer back. They're not putting chrome rotors on, they're taking off the ones I have, polishing them, and putting them back on with chrome hardware. Opinions?

Have the polished ones on mine and they do look a lot better than stock.

Most rotors you find are polished rather than chrome. The brake pads would scratch the chrome up pretty quick. I would go for the polished ones if they are giving you a good price.

And chrome is more slippery than polished steel. You would lose some braking power. Go for polished.

I just had the polished rotors put on mine with my chrome wheel. They look better than the stock ones. Since you did the chrome lowers, they will go good with the other chrome.

HD "chrome" rotors are not all chromed.. the carrier is chromed, not the braking surface.

Go for it I polished mine and they look great. Depending on what they want to charge to polish them. It took me about $25 in materials to polish my own. But if the price is right go for it you will not be disappointed.

Did you do a thread on this? I am interested in attempting myself.
