New to Harleys... I was doing some work on the bike and saw the stock Air Cleaner... Immediately knew it has to be replaced . Not interested in spending lots of money or getting pipes etc. But would take a little easier breathing if available... Whats better stage 1 harley breather kit...K& N using stock base plate or someone else mentioned big sucker?
I installed a Big Sucker on Friday...first "engine" mod. No pipes yet, but it does seem to pull through the gears a little better. Here's a side by side look.

Pat
Use the Screaming Eagle backplate with K&N filter. Also available in chrome.
The Screaming Eagle filter is a piece of paper and metal screen junk!!!
Don't expect much if anything with only the air cleaner change.
More air in with no more air out = nothing
You might also want to look at a tuner, PCIII, etc
Finally, if your bike is under warranty better have a talk with the service manager at your local dealer.
Stage one with Screaming Eagle muffers if installed by the dealer will not void your warranty.
Runs great...like I said it seems to pull stronger, but that might be mental. No other tuning or pipes...yet. I chose this intake partly because (for now) I want to keep the stock AC cover.

cool. I thought everyone was saying you had to do a tune as soon as you chamge intakes.
Have not changed mine yet but service dept says don't do the air filter alone. You can get by just changing pipes but they do not recommend changing only filter.
