Default HD garage door opener.....

Hey all, I got the HD garage door opener for Christmas, its a great gift cause I would of never bought it for myself, I think it is too expensive for what it is, but anyway, I have one. I'm having my bike stored for the winter at the dealership and have work done while it is there so since the fairing will be off, might as well have them install the opener.. but here is my question, does it work with any major garage door company? For instance I have a Chamberlin, all I have to do when I get home from the dealer is hook up that sensor in the garage and I should be good to go? Any further programming? I have read both the HD directions and my opener for my garage directions, and books, and have found nothing about this unless I'm just looking in the wrong spot..

I"m sure you guys that have the HD product can offer some insight to me, apparently I'm not too sharp?

35deg here today!! WOO HOO!!!

I have the HD opener and also a chamberlain liftmaster. After fiddling with it for a while I finally figured it out. I just plugged in the receiver to the wall and ran the wire (supplied) from that and spliced in to the chamberlain wires that were coming from my outside keypad to the chamberlain. Not sure if there were other ways to wire it up but thats what I did and it works like a charm. I love this upgrade, very convenient.

You can wire the receiver right to the wall switch where the opener wires attached and bingo.... Will work with almost any operner.

Default HD Garage Door Opener Additional Info

It should work with the Chamberlain model. Sounds like you have a handle on wiring it to the activation switch on your garage door opener. As far as programming goes, yes it will have to be done.

You might need two people to perform the following depending how far apart the receiver and transmitter are during the programming process.

1. Check that a red light is visible on the front of the HD garage door opener receiver, indicating power to the receiver.

2. Press and hold the Set button on the HD garage door opener receiver. The LED blinks continuously while the Set button is pressed.

3. Set the motorcycle ignition switch to IGN. Switch the headlamp beam using one of these sequences.
a. Starting from Low Beam, switch High, then Low.
b. Starting from High Beam, swithc Low, then High.
4. Release the set button on the receiver.

5. Test the garage door opener, High Beam, and Low Beam headlamp operation.

6. Set the motorcycle ignition switch ot OFF.

Hope this helps.
