Default Cleaning a S/E air filter

Question, how do you clean a S/E air filter? It didn't come with instruction ,I have heard not to oil it, just spray it with simple green, wash it out and let it air dry... I just want to be sure this is the proper way of doing this so I do screw it up. Any help would be appreciated!

Assuming you have the red one, it's supposed to be oiled. Run water through it until clean, let it dry overnight and re-oil.

Dont bother buying air filter(K&N)cleaner.
You can use a water soluble cleaner/degreaser like simplegreen etc- or use Dawn dishsoap etc-.Wash in warm water ,rinse, air dry.

I got this one. If you have a 08 Harley like me right on the filter in small print (the center metal part behind the cover) it says do not oil.
I went to Advance auto parts and bought the K&N filter cleaner for 10 bucks or so.
Spray a lot right on the Filter then let it stand for 10 min then take your garden hose and rinse from the INSIDE OUT!
After you rince VERY GOOD! Let it dry or as I did place in front of a hair dryer on low and get r done!
Reinstall and enjoy the ride. Do every oil change.
