hey slick,

since you're doing this on an 08, why don't you forgo the gasket completely and just use the oring. then you don't have to worry about installing it backwards...

Plus he already has the proper gasket

AAARRRRGGGHHH!

Mine is on backwards!

I thought it read 'towards CROTCH", not towards CLUTCH!

No wonder it leaks.....At my age I leak and dribble so I kinda figured my Harley should too.

The aftermarket covers dont have an o ring groove.

Just changed the derby cover on my 07 Ultra to a HD "Skull" cover. New cover uses the gasket that you are talking about, if I remember correctly the torque with that gasket is also higher than with the "O" ring. Change the bolts to Stainless Allen while you have them out, printed side of gasket cannot be read if gasket is in recess of primary cover the way it goes.
