I have a 2008 FLHX with screamin eagle intake, vance and hines (with power commander and dyno work) slash cut with billet end and chrome front forks.
black.... of course..... I put 8600 miles on it between delivery july, 3 and end of season.
I was wanting some ideas about other customizations. I'm not looking for an in-your-face type of image but subtle changes that keep the original overall appearance....
It's your bike, you need to make it your own with whatever mods you want. I read somewhere the rarest harley is a stock harley...lol. What I like and what anyone else likes may be 2 different things. Look at pics in magazines, go to bike shows and look at details, check out bikes at bikenights, etc. Ideas can come from anywhere.
That said, I just put a chrome front end and wheels on my roadglide, and while it was expensive, I think it was the most dramatic change I have made to the looks of my bike yet.
Best advice I can think to give you is start with a plan and then work towards the end result as you get time and $. With one of my previous bikes, I would buy every chrome farkle I could find and stick it on there as I had $. At some point, I looked at my bike and thought what a garbage barge I had. I stripped it down and started over, choosing carefully what I did so it worked together and got me where I wanted. On my Roadglide, I am trying to be very careful as to what I put on it. I love the clean look of the bike and I want to complement that look not compete with it with the changes I make.
