Default WoW! What a difference

I posted earlier that I did not like the performance of the V&H true dual system. I had the V&H ovals with them. So I decided to buy a V&H Propipe. Had them put on yesterday and had the bike dyno tuned again. WoW, what a difference. First off as expected I got more horsepower, second the throttle response is awsome. It fells like a different bike, real smooth, powerful (for stock motor), that dip in the 2000 to 2500 rpm is gone. I would recomend to anyone that if they can try a 2-1 pipe. I do like the looks of the duals better than the single pipe, but the benifits of a 2-1 won me over this time. Oh yea, the sound of a 2-1 is second to none, my opinion. Just thought I would share that with everyone. Can't wait to get the 95 kit down.

Congrats on the Pipe...I have had mine on for about two weeks and my feelings are exactly the same [sm=bounceybounce.gif]. I believe a revolution has started with the Pro Pipe on the bagger. Like seahag told me, try taking the fibergalss packing from around the baffle and you will get more sound and not lose HP (only takes a few minutes). Post some Pics so we can see [sm=Flahssssss.gif].

I don't have any dip in the torque range, but when the bike hits that 2800-4500 rpm range, it pulls like a MF

How loud is it compared to V&H Ovals? I'm seriously thinking of changing mine to a 2-1.

It's a nice throaty rumble, but will let you know they are there when you roll that throttle back. very good sound. It's hard to tell someone how load a pipe is considering everyone has different opinions on what loud is. Compared to the ovals, they are probly as loud but with a better lower tone sound. And more power. The bike runs smoother and is more fun to ride.

It's not loud like straights, especially the fishtail straights I had. However, it had a very distinct, throaty rumble. It will really talk when you roll on the throttle. I had a buddy riding next to me say that it was REALLY LOUD!!! The 2-1 pro pipe is not a very common exhaust around where I am from, despite the large number of bikes. Everyone who has heard it really remarks on the distinct sound and loudness. To me, it makes my scooter sound much stronger. Like I said in the above post, I took the fiberglass packing off of the baffle and got a louder, better toned exhaust note w/no power loss. By the way, the v&H pro pipe is one of the less expensive "quality" exhaust systems you can buy.

No, it's V&H Ovals with stock header. HD tech that built my engine recommended that over true duals. He also recommended a 2-1 like Thunderheader - wish I'd listened to him [sm=headbang.gif]. Now I'm looking at another $500+ exhaust system and another dyno run. [sm=sigh.gif]

Wingt - thanks for the info.
