I don't know what came over me, as I sat in my cold garage, drinking a fresca, my lovely wife waiting in her easter thong for me and i being the 99%er telling her just five more minutes till i complete the oil temp install,my red sears jack slowly leaking down as i run around the other side to give a quick two pumps to the leaking bottle jack. i wish i didn't read these posts so much, i wish i couldn't do these mods that someone other than myself came up with but i read these posts everyday and i got to do it i cant stop, oh my, the harbor freight wheel chock i brought is coming loose from the garage floor. i got to move it out to the jiffy stand, i don't trust this stand at all from Harley it collapses on itself if you don't insure the tab is in the slot. Can someone tell me why that is?
all I can say abut the jiffy stand is you get used to it's sloppyness. I never had it break lose once you extend it fully with your boot heel. And get you a good $800 air operated bike lift. Makes everything easier.
As far as ambient temp gauge, I find myself checking it all the time. Not sure it means anything, as if I am riding, it doesn't change anything, but I scan it with the other gauges frequently. I don't want it to go, but an additional oil temp gauge would be nice.

The best part about this thread is that every now and again someone stumbles into it and takes it seriously
I really like my ambient air gauge. The only objection is that every time I
read the temp, I have to pull off to the side of the road, pull out my caculator
and recalulate the numbers, due to the fact I have a vivid black bike and the
gauge numbers are always 15 to 65 degrees high...... Other than that I really
like my ambient air gauge..... Thank You Harley Davidson...........hdman
