I'd like to know how you were getting 50+. on a good day with the wind behind me, I get about 39. This is with a stock bike.
The way you get 50 MPG+ is by mixing equal amount of gas and bulls**t when you fill up, or maybe you don't have a clue of how to figure MPG on a vehicle, motorcycle or car. The most I have ever gotten is around 40 MPG.
'07 Ultra, Stage 1, 38-40ish mpg on the superslab and 42-43ish on the 2-lane.
'09 Ultra, stock with about 3500 miles on, knock 2-3 off of the above #'s. We'll see how the PC V and Ness A/C with the stock muffs does after this weekend.
I got 44-45 when stock. Now with a stage 1 I am getting 39-40. I couldn't be more happier with mine. That is with the slip-ons, SE A/C, and the PC III mapped by Jamie at Fuelmoto when I ordered it. Plugs look good and throttle response is great.
I only got 38-40 mpg on the Heritage Softail with the 95" and cams upgrade.
you guys are making me feel better. my 06 with stage 1 gets about 38-40 on regular riding (less than 70 mph). if i hit the interstate and cruise at 75+ it drops to 32-34.
My '09 RK is bone stock with about 1750 miles on it. My commute daily is 135 miles round trip to/from work. My home is in the high desert mtns east of San Diego at 4200' elevation. My work is basically at Sea Level down at the coast. So I have to do a few long uphill 6% grades along the way in the mtns here. I consistently get 38-39 mpg under these conditions. I cruise at about 70-75 most of the way with an occasional 80 if I'm not paying attention.
I havent had it on a long flat haul yet but am curious what I'll get then. I'm guessing low 40's. I don't know if the motor is "broken in" yet as far as expecting best mileage - at what point is it "broken in" in that regard?
My 09 Ultra is bone stock with Kerker slipons and I get around 36 mpg consistently. I ride mostly around town here in Central Florida. I've never touched 40 mpg and I use a tank a week.
