Hummm this has me puzzled ... Pa sales tax is 6%.... I live about two mile from Zannotti and unless I am mistaken it is 6% ... I have been wrong many times before..and will be again ..
Nothing new. This move to try to collect taxes on internet sales has been going on for years since shortly after the advent of e-sales. Just the latest attempt by one state to get their percieved share.
I dealt with the threat of this 8 yrs ago and mail order businesses have been doing the same for who knows how many years before that.
Nothing has happened yet. It might...and it might not. But until the economy bounces back, individual states will continue to look for ways to get more money in their coffers.
800-1000 a month ? What does this machine look like ?
I thought the same thing, then I thought, I need a better job to allow for more disposable income, then I thought, the government will never let me off active duty, then I came full circle and I'm back to wondering what the bike looks like.
Yes, that is correct, .... My Michigan state tax return form asks if i've purchased things out of state via the internet, and i am in turn taxes (6% here in michigan) on those items. Basically the honor system for allowing michigan to get the tax they are "owed"
Yeah, the "honor system" is unworkable. It's the "tax at time of purchase" that seals the deal. I heard today on the radio that the Texas legislature will be looking at that in the upcoming session.
I think it's inevitable that this will start happening, given the legislative hunger for new tax revenue. I just hope there will be ways to dodge it.
Have you noticed the increase in the 09 HD book, Saddlebag Support Kit went fr 119.95 to 139.95, 16.7% one example. They must of priced their stuff when oil was $147 and steel prices were way high. God Bless Them!
Dayem, I'm glad folks pay attention to these topics!
I've read that the major loop hole that esales have is that the consumer can state that what he paid the etailer was tax included, the etailer in turn states the consumer is responsible for the tax in his state(which actually is how the system is suppose to work) the question might be when is the gov. going to go after the seller for taxes. That is when all sellers will start charging sales tax to everyone.
