I have been searching for a while for a rocker box mount for a 2" gauge to keep an eye on my oil temp on a road king and finally found a bracket at Wimmer Custom Cycle. I called them and left them a message with some questions then sent them an email because I figured no one would call me back. I was wrong-within 10 minutes I had a new email with all the answers and someone called to follow up! Excellent customer service and quality product.
Now my question-there is a fair amount of vibration on the motor, would I be better off using a 2" HD fairing mount gauge, or a dakota digital? I am not sure if the vibrations would cause problems with the analog HD gauge.
Does the dakota digital gauge show 70 degrees (or whatever) when you start the bike, unlike the HD that doesnt register until 110+?
Thanks
I am looking for 2" oil temp, not 1.5" pressure. Most of the pressure gauges I have seen are liquid filled which would damper some of the vibrations, and the 'fairing mount' gauge from HD is not liquid filled-would that cause problems with the vibes?
I had used a 2 inch gauge with a rocker box mount and it was fine. I had a mounting left over from a Legends air ride that I used to mount the gauge. The gauge was just a regular gauge, not liquid filled. Hope this helps.
