Say I went to go with a new '08 setup. Could I use DOT 5 instead of 4. I do not like the idea the fluid being to hydroscopic. Plus the chance of runining the paint. I do not see why not, seeing it is not ABS. I used DOT 5 when iI had my EVO RK with Brembo brakes. Any thoughts?
Wvultra was the first to do this upgrade, he has a great write up on it with a parts list. And not wanting to steal his thunder, I'm sure if email him, he will be happy to send it to you.

Dawg has a link to the file in his Post #5. Thanks Dawg!
One of the best OEM braking sytems I've ever encountered on a Touring bike!
A simple parts swap if you've got the '08 components.

Many people over on the V Rod forum have changed to Brembro using dot 5 . Do a search over there .Some have even used Brembro calipers with the old style master cyl . Just be sure to clean or flush the system because mixing fluids is a BIG NO NO
I was searching on Ebay this morning and here are some of the parts for the conversion, some of them have a great price. I did leave one link off, he wanted $125 for the master cylinder without a lever, way too much.
This is where I got most of what I needed for the conversion.
Dont see a listing but I got mine from Christies Harley parts off e-bay.Got calipers, rotors, master cylinder, levers and perches, switch housings. All were new takeoff.Course then I bought different rotors and levers and didnt need switch housings.

The list of parts is on the last two pages of Wvultra's write up on the conversion, page 20 and 21.
