OK it's stupid question time....

Brembo makes calipers for the older touring models. I have seen them in the Drag catalog, and on EBAY

Has anyone tried the Brembo aftermarket calipers instead of replacing the whole front braking system?

I'm not willing to do more than some good aggressive aftermarket pads, braided lines, 2 Brembo calipers, and fresh fluid.

Any opinions?

does the new system run dot4 or dot5. and if it is dot4, will i be able to run the brake lines that i currently have (russell ss braided) or will i need new ones of those as well?

I don't receive email notification of posts here; sorry about taking so long to get back.

Yes, the '08 system uses DOT 4 fluid. And yes I think your Russsell braided lines will be fine. I had the H-D Diamondback '07 lines already, and they worked fine with the upgraded system.

Cheers!

Neggy:

That's a valid question. From what I've briefly seen on the net, the true Brembo upgrades as offered by QTMI might be quiet a bit more expensive if you figure in both calipers, lines, pads, etc.

http://www.qtmi.com/STREETkitsTOUR.html

And I have heard from another rider with an '03 that used his stock m/c, and was very please with the H-D Brembo conversion.

Aggressive shopping on Ebay, etc will yield a very affordable package for the H-D upgrade.

Good luck!
