If you're not going to paint, use something that is low solvent with U/V protection. Something like McGuires #40 would be a good choice. Lately I've been trying out Turtle Wax Ice on mine. I'll be interested to see how that works out.
I used Turtle Wax Ice also, used it on everything, paint, chrome, inner fairing, etc. since it doesn't leave any film and really brought inner fairing back to like new. I'll be interested to see the remarks of all these painted inner fairings reflecting in the eyes after putting in 8-10 hr. days. I don't even use chrome switch covers because IMO I don't want something shinning in my eyes.
Painted mine and the snowballing began again!! Bought the fairing mount mirrors and painted them to match too. Chromed lower legs, cow bells, switch housings, levers, gage bezels, top outer fairing trim, axle nut covers, misc chrome bling bling on all the caliper hardware, changed frt speakers, smoked passing lamps, and well you guys know this story goes......on......on....

the only people that say it reflects are people that don't have theres painted, you get more relections from the dash and top of the gas tank. I never had a problem in 12 hour days
when I did my forks the other week I think I broke the code on the ignition. Take a screwdriver, line up the DOVETAILED slots on the top and bottom 'thingamajigs' at 2:00 and then insert the switch while its pointing the 'lock' position. Once I lined them up, it went together like butta. I struggled at 1st cause I didn't see that one slot was square and one was dovetailed (till I put my dang reading glasses on...lol).
If you broke the code then this should become a sticky, I struggled with putting the damn thing in and lots of others have as well. Thanks for the tip!
