Batwing or Windshield
Thought I would post this in the touring section since you folks have more experience with batwing fairings versus a plain windshield. I already have a windshield and wind deflectors on the lowers that work fine to an extent. I'm considering purchasing a batwing fairing for my Softail Fatboy, probably a California Custom Cruiser model, without sounds. I've searched the topic and it seems that batwings still get pushed around by the wind at speed, perhaps a bit less then a plain windshield. Is this so, or is it worth it to buy a batwing? I would like to hear from those of you that have ridden with a plain windshield, like a touring Road King or a Softail model, then have ridden with a batwing like on the touring Glides. After more than 40 years in the saddle, I'm looking for comfort more than a breeze, but not yet ready to step up to an Ultra.
