Default Shopping for a navigation system? Check out Circuit City, but hurry

Sadly, Circuit City announced yesterday that they were totally bankrupt. Starting this morning they are liquidating all inventory in every US based store. Some sources claim when stores open this AM everything will be at least 30% off with deeper discounts to come soon.

This might be a great time to pull the trigger on that Garmin you always wanted.

Be careful with these liquidation sales. I was watching a news investigation on tv the other night and they said in a lot of cases, you can get items cheaper than these liquidation sales.

Just be careful and check prices on the internet. Most of these liquidation sales have a NO RETURN POLICY, and realize that you are not buying from Circuit City, It is a liquidation company and a lot of times they raise prices to discount them and it is really not a good deal.

Good advise fersure, and it is true that you are not dealing with the actual store anylonger, but instead cutthroats who's mission is to max their profit in a hit and run fashion.

Yes, as always, shop smart!

Daves not here is right, be careful.

Case in point:
I bought a pair of Golf pants for $21 at my local Goodies store on a Monday. Then it came out Tuesday in the newspaper that Goodies was bankrupt and closing several stores, ours included.

They had there "Going out of Buisness" sale start on Saturday “at least 40% off everything” so I went in to get another paint of golf paints.

So to make a long story short Monday normal price: they were $21 - Saturday going out of Buisness 40% off and they where $25

The place way packed with people, but a lot of people were leaving stuff at the cash registers, when they would see it really was a sham.

Very good information. Circuit city in Trussville, al. went out of business. I was looking for a HD TV from my grandson's bedroom. After pricing the TV at several stores I found that Circuit city was a good $75 higher than the other stores that were not going out of business. Circuit city advertised everything 30/40% off. I went there several times and found that the 30/40% discounts never took placed.
Compare the prices on line and then go and check out them to save you some disappointments.

I remember when Good Guys (another electronic store) went out of business and did the same liquidation type of sale. They jacked the prices back up THEN applied their so called 30%-70% off sale; I know this because I was pricing a video camera in their store about a month before they announced their sale.. what a joke it was.

Anyway, as others have stated, double check the pricing online to make sure your really getting a deal. I'll still go check out Circuit City though, you never know what you'll find.
