I have the one that mounts to the rack. I had to get a small piece of inner tube to go between it and the rack but have not had any problems. I looked real close at these and would get them if I were going to use the fastener method of install but wouldn't trust the tape.

I quit using the HD flag. Buddy had one that came out on a windy day, and even with the "protective" patch, it marred my tour pak. I use one mounted to my luggage rack that I purchased from moto-Xpress's website.

Eastern Performance usually has a great price on the pro pad flag mounts. they work great on a tour pac luggage rack.

I use the Pro-Pads and have not had any problems. I have 3 flags mounted and they even held upto 1 wreck and may have made it through the other had it not been for the ditch at 55mph!!!! My 2 cents.
