I own a 2002 FLHRI road king and was thinking my mileage is a bit low. I am running a stock 88 with open air filter and V&H turn down slip ons. Added the V&H fuelpak to eliminate lean surge. Noticed significant power gains but my budd gasped when I told him I only got 37.6 mpg. There was a bit of a headwind that day and I was cruising mostly 65-80 on mostly flat ground(Kingman AZ to Henderson NV). Had the task of getting over the hoover dam but traffic wasn't all that bad. What do you get? With what mods? Happy riding!
doesnt say if efi or carb, but does sound low, my 05 rk efi was capable of 50-52 mpg when riding solo in geezer mode the lowest i could get it was 44-46 mpg/ pasenger. my 07 e/glide is capable of 48 mpg in solo geezer mode and 47 mpg/pasenger. all mpg is hwy trips. cant use stop/go city mpg's, too many variables. remember o2 motors 2007+ wil richen themselves and lower mpg's with mods after sending i see it is injected, missed it when 1st read, my bad!

Reason: reread your bike specs
My 02 Ultra gets 42 when averaging 60-65 mph and drops off fast if I speed up. 75 mph yields about 37 mpg. These where on 5 - 6k mile trips. Slip ons and SE download with SE Air cleaner.
My '09 RK has about 2400 miles on it now (bone stock). It's giving me exactly 40 mpg routinely. But my round-trip 135 mile daily commute is from 4200' elevation in the mountains down to sea level in San Diego then back up home to 4200' at the end of the day again (a couple fairly long 6% grades along the way). I average 70-75 mph on this commute (all freeway). So my mileage is going to be lower than if on a flat run. I suppose I'd be in the mid-40's on flat ground.
As said above your mileage isn't aweful but it's not great. Individual bikes vary and your mods will have a big impact sometimes along with your riding style. Have it dyno'd if you think it can do better. And ask that it be dyno'd with MPG's in mind more than POWER (unless power is what you want).
