Got the 2'' pull backs on, wires inside, cleaned the look up. I wish I'd done this some time ago. Really makes a difference, comfort, using the back rest, really able to kick back and relax. No more stretching for the bars. It truly sweetend up the ride a lot! Shoulder pain gone, back pain gone, litteraly like sitting in the Lazy Boy. Oooohh baby!!
Before and after pictures:
With the Clearview 12" shield, things all crammed up,..
With the Wind Vest 10" and I can see my gages again
Did you do the install? I have an 09 and experience the same problems you described. I just want to be sure to do it right the first time. If you did it, how was it? If not, can I ask the total cost? Sounds like you are very happy with the results. Nice looking ride. 1st time I read your post there were no pics. Must have lagged.
Okay, flame on guys. I'm not a wrench, let me be the first to admit it. Just about $800.00 installed. The bars were like $150.00 and the rest labor and braided clutch cable. Took about six hours in the shop. Yea, I'm happy! Used to get muscle spasms in my back and shoulders after a few hours. With just the hour and a half ride home I can tell it'll be no more. It's literally like sitting in my recliner at home.
You will get no flames here my friend. From my understanding, bars are a major install. Also they are something you want done right. Last thing you need is problems with cables and such. That's why I asked. You can't put a price tag on comfort either. Some people (me) spend that much just on things that really don't do anything beneficial! I am appreciative of your post as I need to do something and your ride is the same as mine. Thanks.
I've had them on all my tourers...great! I call them Cadillac bars.....never paid that much to have them installed before...must really be a pain in the butt.....
For those interested you can get the Khrome Werks Sweeper bars with a +4 OEM style clutch cable for a little over $100.00 from a Forum vendor (Warehouse Direct - Cory) and that is all you need for the install, everything else is good to go.
