With the Ultra I really don't mind the cold, but the darn snow and salt is a killer. When I lived in Phoenix I used to bitch about the 110 - 115 temps, now that is sounding pretty good. Of course I do remember not being able to touch your car door handles and having to open the doors and wait while the interior temps dropped enough to climb in. Ah those were the days, lol.
I do enjoy this area in the summer, the lake is magnificent and even the fall is a sight to see. But these winters seem to get longer and longer every year. The one thing I am looking forward to is for the first time in 15 years I will have a bike ready to roll on the first nice day rather then sitting and eating my heart out as others ride by the house!
You all can put me in the "It's too crappy to ride" club. Lots of snow here in Northern Michigan. Not only snow, ice, and salt, but the frost heaves in the paved roads are down right nasty!!!! Welcome to Michigan.
I hate to be contrary and bust-up y'all's winter party-going and merriment, but our cold season here in Baton Rouge has been freakishly warm. It's hit below 30° maybe twice so far and highs in the 70's have been commonplace lately. Today it's a chilling 53°, which is a tad below normal for this date, but tomorrow will be in the 60's and Tuesday in the 70's again. I haven't even cranked up the heated clothing yet this season.
Now that said, don't bring up the subject of weather come July and August. I'll be heatbound like you guys are snowbound now. The heat coupled with high humidity is a killer.
