Hope everyone in this ICE storm is OK....we have about 1/2" ice covering everything....slick as snot out there.....and it's now raining...so we have wet ice..thank Al Gore....where's that global warming?????
News says from Texas, OK through MO and into KY.....heading north.
We're supposed to get 1/2" in Memphis tonight (yawn). I grew up in this stuff up in Ohio but the locals here... wow. Last time we had ice here, we really had ice. Lost power for days, lots of damage. Pretty as could be though. Tonight I filled all tanks (including tanks to use for generators) just in case. Nice fire going in the insert. Waiting for Sunday.
Hang in there. I'm a lineman for the local power company. We spent three weeks in Oklahoma in December of 07 and in Kentucky last year during last year. The local companies are quick too call for help when storms hit. I met some great poeple in both places and saw some awsome bikes along the way.
Well in Oklahoma City it is pretty nasty, they sent us home early on monday, then stayed home today because it is very slick....about a 1/2 ice under 1" of sleet.......
West Texas is getting coated in ice right now. Started sleeting around 4:30. About 24 degrees. Several traffic fatalities already today (we don't know how to drive in ice).
Wow! Sounds like crazy weather. It was pretty cold here today, only got up to about 68 today. Had to wear my thermal shirt under my shirt and vest for my ride. Sorry
Obviously I love the So-Cal weather, but this place is full of nuts! Looking forward to retirement and a nice house at the end of a quiet road.
Just read a news story, 3 inches of ice in Arkansas and Oklahoma! Crazy! Take care out there.

Doesn't look good for the east coast, or mid-America. These ice storms are indeed treacherous. I hope everyone is safe, with extra batteries, candles, fuels and food. God Bless...
Yea coming here at about 4 am..on top of the 8 inches to a foot left over from last week. I think I still got a bike out there somewhere in the shed. Come on summer!!!!
