Default Mistake?

My TourMaster Synergy gloves arrived after a month on backorder. I am getting this feeling that I have made a big mistake.

They garage tested just fine, but failed the road test. I froze. After thawing out, I went back to the garage to find out they don't work.

I dug out my warranty card that said I have a 3 year warranty. And to return them to a TourMaster Authorized dealer. (No TourMaster Phone number.)

I filled out there Contact Us form on the Web page. I received a canned message from helmethouse.com that said it would take 2-4 business days to respond.

I can see this going in the ****ter really quick. Not sure who helmethouse is and how they are related to TourMaster, but not having a customer service number seems like a poor business practice to me.

probably would've been nice info to have this info *before* he bought them.

They make good products so I would be surprised if they just blow you off. I guess you'll find out in 2-4 days. Let us know how it goes.

As soon as I posted this they responded. Another canned letter. HelmetsRus advice was to take em back where I got them. Have a nice day...

The little micro fuse on their controller board failed. I have already fixed the controller by bypassing their fuse. I was just hoping they would be a stand up company and throw a replacement one in the mail.

Lesson learned.

Back in 2005 I bought a Tourmaster rainsuit. I rode to Sturgis and back (from NY) about 5500 miles in two weeks. I got plenty of use from the rainsuit and when I got back to NY I noticed an abrasion in the pants. I tried calling and emailing Tourmaster numerous times but never received a response from them. I contacted Dennis Kirk (purchased from them) and they made it right.

How much effort does it take to return an email?

Their customer service doesn't $uck, it is non exisitent.

I will never buy another Tourmaster product no matter how good or how cheap.

Yeeoow...this is going south in a hurry..
I own two Tourmaster synergy jackets, one for me the other for the wife, and a set of the gloves...love em..they work great.
I read about a problem with the older style controllers so I called Helmethouse (they own Tourmaster) they promptly sent me out two new replacement controllers for my jackets, the original ones hadn't even broken..so I have two spares in case they do go bad.
Had the jackets first, then I got the gloves in November for my birthday..the conrtoler did go bad on the gloves(they are aparently still working out some bugs)so I called Helmet house again...4 days later I had a new controler in the mail for my gloves.
I've had tourmaster stuff for 20 some years..riding jackets, rainsuit, the electric stuff. never had a problem with any of it till the glove controller and they fixed that almost instantly..I like Tourmaster a lot, great service when needed, and will continue to buy thier stuff.
And ,no I have no affiliation with them except as a happy customer.

For the record:

The Vendor I ordered these from, was able to get a new controller shipped to me from HelmetHouse. With that said. HelmetHouse is making an effort to make it right.

Tech question:
For those of you with these gloves and an ohm meter what is the resistance of these gloves? I am seeing 1.25 ohms on each. I am asking, because the micro fuse in the controller blew. I have shorted that fuse and the gloves work.. (Driving around with them plugged into the cigarette lighter socket in my car)

The micro fuse is either undersized, or I still have a problem. My thought is that the fuse is too small. Given the fact that some other component on the controller hasn't failed after shorting it out.
