Default Mp3?

O.K., i'm behind the techno times when it comes to gadgets. I have never been one to get excited by new electronics, so I know just about nothing when it comes to mp3 players but I am intrested in uninterupted music while i'm on the road so I guess I better get up to speed. Any suggestions or pics would be appreciated.

I use the Sony MP3 player on my streetglide, get the sport model as it is water resitant. Turn the volume up on the MP3 player to just below maximum and listen to over 400 song, 16 hour battery life. The only thing I don't like about it is that you plug it into your computer USB port to recharge, you have to carry an adapter when on long trips.

My GPS is also an MP3 player. I have it wired to power on with the ignition. Love it!

Same thing with my I-pod but that thing has I don't know how many hours of music on it, at least 5 or 6, maybe more. I have a waterproof "Otterbox" for mine, works great. (It rains a lot here)

All these guys have good ideas. Since your bike will play MP3 files on CD's, you can get at least 90 songs on 1 CD, or about 6-8 hours of music on one disc.
If you're thinking about a GPS, my Garmin Zumo will hold ~900+ songs on a 4GB SD card. Talk about continuous music.
If you want the basics on MP3 music, get on line and read all you can. There are tutorials out there written in layman's terms that will help you get your start.
PM me if you want more info.

Ipod Nano 8 Gig here. Loaded it up with over 10 hours of music for a ride to Cherokee last July and not any issues. Make sure do NOT buy anything with a hard drive or you'll be skipping right on down the road.

Does your Garmin plug into the aux port on the radio for the tunes? I've got a TomTom Rider 2 with the card but not sure how to plug it into the bike or if I even can. It is blutooth but I'm not at all familiar with anything about blutooth.

everything you ever wanted to know about MP3's
I use an "iriver clix" 4 gb player, with fm tuner... I either run it through the AUX jack on the HK, or, I'll run it through my J&M cb unit. I set it to shuffle, lock it, and toss in the glove box Last I figured, I had about 700 songs and still had room. This unit will run about 24 hours between a charge, but you need a USB to re-charge (or the optiona. wall charger ... which I have)

Hey Tima,
I bought a male to male 1/8" patch cord from Radio Shack. It plugs into the Zumo mount. I ran it down the handlebar, thru the inside of the fairing and out the other side then it plugs into the Aux port on the radio. The radio picks up on the fact something's plugged into it, so you're ready to go! PM me if you need more info.
