In the 09 FLTR, the plate is moved UNDER the tail light 0 like the Street Glide.
In the 08, it's still above it.
The MC sells THEIR relocation kit - which comes with a turn signal bar, etc - well, I've already got that turn signal set up.
Is there anything out there that just has a new bracket & tail light lens?
In other words - what are my options? I'd hate to spend $250, if all I need to do is spend $100, or something...
Any advice from your experience would be great. Thanks in advance!
After I added the SG fender extensions to my RG, I switched the turnsignal bar to the streetglide bar that has the LED tag lights underneath (around $50 I think), I just swapped the RG turnsignal 'guts' to the SG housing. I added a Kuryakyn curved license plate holder made to bolt right to the SG taillight. I like the looks of this setup but ymmv.
and before you ask, no I don't have the part numbers... sorry... just go to your dealer and look in the book.
edit: the SG turnsignal is similar to the RG one, but it has the provisions for an LED light strip underneath that the RG one doesn't have, thats why I had to swap it out. I also switched the taillight out to a laydown one from J&P that has the tag light opening on the bottom so it looks better. The blue dot is just what I like, they have plain ones too.

Winter modes to the back included eliminating the bumper and replacing the visors with the French bezael on the turn signals. I don't have the saddlebags back yet so no new pic.
Steve what's the leather horseshoe you have behind the solo seat? Nice bike, very clean!
thanks... "clean" is what I am going for...
its a Mustang Fender bib that matches my Mustang seat, I run it on the fender whenever I am not using the passenger pillion. (oh and its vinyl like the seat, although there are places out there that have them in leather (my wife has one from Timberwolf Leather on her sporty... good quality item).
I used a license bracket that Drag Specielties markets part # 1905-0000 on my RK. You just unbolt the turn signal bar and put this bracket under it and bolt it back on.
I thought it was a little expensive but it's way cheaper than $250.

What did you do to get the plate to be lit up?
Can you just mount your tail light lens upside down??
