Took my rear shock of the bike to check them out.Oil came out of air line hole.Didnt do nothing to shock just put them back on but now looks like the shocks arent holding the air.The pump is fine.Anyone have pics of shocks inside?
Wanted to check if they were broke. It hits prety hard most of the time even with lots of air in it.Getting a clockering sound .It didnt do that when it was new for sure.
I remember something in the service manual about not inverting them so the oil comes out. You may have some serious problems with them now that you have done that. If they weren't holding air in the first place, you may have a broken seal. Did you check the air lines and connections using soapy water while you pumped air into them?
How much air did you usually put into them and what did you use to pump them up?
If they are damaged, you may be able to use them for a while by just plugging the brass air coupling at the top of them with a bolt.
If they're not holding air mix up some dish soap in a spray bottle and spray all of the hose and fittings after airing up the shocks. Wherever you see bubbles you have a leak. Tighten or replace accordingly. Also there are many posts regarding oil changing and replacement in the stock air assist shocks - do a search on this forum. You can also replace the stockers for Works Performance or Progressive Suspension coil spring shocks and be done with the hassle altogether.
If it's under warranty, take it in and deny you ever farked with it, they will replace it.
Since new, I've ran mine with no air and don't notice stiff ride....but I only weigh 165 and don't tote fat chicks....If however, I had a blown seal, then it would fersure be harsh.
