Default Street King

What would you think if the MoCo offered a new model called Street King? A lowered Road King that comes with a factory detachable fairing.

I think it would be a big seller and current King owners would be able to get a detachable fairing from Harley rather than aftermarket.

Has the Factory ever offered this before?

Nope. I think they need to dig themselves out first

I have one Road king Custom with detachable fairing. The custom comes lowered like the Street Glide. It is a good idea though. I think it would be a seller.

I agree. I added the Street Glide ground effects/LED light bar for that added custom look. Sadly for my wallet it won't last long because I'm going with a Baddad wide fender and 4" stretched bags soon.

I've liked the moniker Street King better than what I first started calling my FLHRS....a Road King Custom Custom..didn't know if others had started throwing it into conversation....I'll stop adding/removing stuff to mine somewhere between the two models...It was a compromise when I bought her between the SG and RK...I want to add another bike to the garage in a year or so, maybe it will be a bobber or maybe an EG -depends on the mood, I want a short range and a long range setup....at least I'll have the light tourer taken care of???

I just bought my first new harley a few weeks ago. I got the '09 Road King. I was really torn between the king and the glide but in the end I decided that I could add the detach fairing later. Just surprised that the fairing has to come from aftermarket.

Are you being sarcastic about the stretched bags? Aren't those 4" jobs on your scoot?

I'm keeping the 16" rear wheel and adding the Arnott Aldan Air Suspension. I was told that unless I was riding it around slammed, I wouldn't have a problem with tire clearance or scraping. The floorboard will scrape before the bag unless of course it's a compression turn.

No, no sarcasm.
Yes, mine are 4"....yes, I wish I had done 2" instead.

Riding is supposed to be fun. How can it be fun if you constantly worry with scraping the bags?

You didn't mention the air ride in your previous post. I wouldn't have made that comment if you had.

I'll be looking further into the air ride setup. Anyone that decides to do a 4" stretch that's reading this thread...I suggest you consider an air ride, too.

Not nearly as fancy as BadPiggy....But I couldn't be happier with my Road King, and the detachable fairing....
