Will a big sucker filter assembley fit on my 06 SG? All the adds say it fits up to 2005 flt, and wont fit 2006 inj models. Did'nt the 2005 use the same delphi inj? some help before I purchase would be greatly appreciated.
I worked at a local bike shop during the winter months. I put a Big Sucka on my 04 Ultra, buddy of mine bought an 06 Street glide and we tried to put a Big Sucka on his bike, The shop went thru Drag Speciality to buy these items. Drag stated that the Big Sucka will be available for the 06 models by Jume 2006.
I bought a "Big Sucker" two weeks after I purchased my bike.
I don't get the "it won't fit" but I have heard the same thing.
It mounted up with no problems.I have 10k trouble free miles with it installed.
Signed into my Dennis Kirk account and this is what I purchased.
1-Part# H30647
Stage I Big Sucker Performance Air Filter
Units: each 4.81 Lbs. $104.99
1- Part# H49761
8 in. Smooth Air Cleaner Cover
Units: each 5.68 Lbs. $56.99
Is your bike an '06? As has been said, there is a change to the throttle body, I believe (another) sensor was added. I have been told that you can grind off the obstruction and the backing plate will then fit.
Of course if there is a warranty issue with the throttle body...
Not sure of the Ness model I originally purchased. But back in Aug I tried the Big Sucker on my 2006 Street Glide. It did not even come close to fitting. It was off by close to an inch. I ended up using the SE stage 1 kit.
I did hear that Ness was going to come out with a 2006 compatible model, but not sure if that it out yet.
I talk with the guys from Arlen Ness every other week. They will not be availble until the end of April. I've had one on order since Feb. So hopefully soon.
(AN says harley changed the throttle on the 06s therefore the older ones will not fit/work properly
