I don't know if this will help or not. I have an '08 FLHTC and am 6'2" 285 and the stock seat put me on the tank trying to rub the paint off. I extened and moved my floorboards up and bought a tall-boy seat since it was the only thing out there that moves you back.
Seat did a good job of moving me back and a sore butt on long hauls. So Mean City has installed some padding for me and I will try when the snow goes away.
I asked a lot of questions of Mean City regarding my seat before spending the $$$. The one thing they did say was be glade you don't have an '09 because Harley really messed those seat pans up. I guess there is not much room for modifcations.
Yeah, it looks like the one for the 09 has very shallow area for the seat padding and looks like no padding can be shaved and added to change comfort without adding height. I think I'll call Mean City and find out just what the problem is. Thanks.
edited as after thought: What about maybe buying a Sundowner and having it worked on by Mean City or just having the stock seat worked on?

I've got one on my 09 SG. Loved it until I went 1700 miles in 4 days. To Florida and back.
Wife loves it...much better back there than the badlander...
I now hate it! I'd say...for me...it's about a 100-200 mile seat.
I want my LePera Maverick back!
If even that far...way too soft for long range riding - big and ugly too. Not an HD saddle fan here. You can get a custom seat for ~ $100 more and it will last twice as long to.
Here is a link to a seat I've been thinking about getting. Just wonder if anybody has one on an 09 Ultra and if you like it. From the pic, it does not appear to have very much padding. I am 6'4" tall, weigh 278 lbs and the stock seat seems to push me on top of the tank unlike the stock seat on my 03 Ultra.
6'7", 250lbs here. I've tried a couple different seats and a Mean City Cycles mod and haven't been 100% happy with any of them. Next tuesday I'm taking it to a local shop for a custom fitting. They'll cut and place foam where needed, mod my seat pan, do a custom cover if needed, and let me ride it before recovering. Ballpark was $350ish, my upper limit is $1k. I'll update here when it's done with the results but I'm really looking forward to this.
OK, Here's my take on the HD Tallboy seat. I just got back from the Harley dealer, they had one in stock. I took the three things with me I would need to help make up my mind. I took bike so I could actually mount the seat and sit on it, I took the wifey AKA passenger to see if she would be OK with the seat, and I took a tape measure just in case I needed it. I put the seat on and sat down OK by me for the driver, got me far enough back to get me off the tank, don't think there would be much of a comfort level on long trips. Now, for passenger opinion, wifey says there's no way in hell she can ride comfortable on this seat and I see her point. By using the tape measure and letting her sit on it behind me, we were able to determine the Tallboy seat, measured from the slit for the backrest to the screw hole that holds the seat on, she looses 3 inches from the stock seat. This was a deal killer for her. My solution was to purchase a detachable seat hardware kit while I was there, remove the seat strap when I got home and now I will order the Tallboy or go back and get the seat from the dealer and just swap it out when she's not riding. Maybe this will make us both happy.
