The operator and any passenger wear protective headgear that meets the safety
standards adopted by the department; and
(2) the operator operates the motorcycle:
(A) at a speed not more than five miles per hour
greater than the speed of the other traffic;
(B) in traffic that is moving at a speed of 20
miles per hour or less; and
(C) in a location other than a school crossing
zone or a location where the posted speed limit is 20 miles per hour
or less.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2009.

Still nice though, but I have ALWAYS ridin on the shoulder. When I get to the cops, I say, "I am a Paramedic, do you need any help?" It is almost always after the ambulance has come and gone, so, they say no. Then I carry on, WAY ahead of the traffic I just passed.

Yes, but it looks like this law states that the people who choose to wear no helmet can not choose to split lanes. Anyone here a lawyer?
The exemption to wearing a helmet is still in force with this Bill....(1) notwithstanding Section 661.003(c), the operator
and any passenger wear protective headgear that meets the safety
standards adopted by the department;
2-23 (c) It is an exception to the application of Subsection (a)
2-24 or (b) [a defense to prosecution under this section] that at the
2-25 time the offense was committed, the person required to wear
3-1 protective headgear[:]
3-2 [(1)] was at least 21 [18] years old[;] and had
3-3 successfully completed a motorcycle operator training and safety
3-4 course under Chapter 662 or was covered by a health insurance plan
3-5 providing the person with at least $10,000 in medical benefits for
3-6 injuries incurred as a result of an accident while operating or
3-7 riding on a motorcycle "
I visit some friends in Austin every spring and this last year they took me to the post office in your picture.
That is one really COOL place. There were bikes coming in and out the whole time we were there.
I'm trying to remember the name of the family style bar b/q resturant we ate at on the way back to Austin? Man the food was excellent.
