Is a 01 Ultra a good dependable bike, 27k miles, any special problems?

 

How was the bike maintained, do you know who the owner is, how it was rode, etc. I have a 00 EGC never had a issue. Do my own maint. Good luck.

 

Great bike but even if they have the service records find a good shop in your area (Sure people here would have some recommendations) and pay to have it thoroughly checked out

 

Ditto that. If has been well maintained you should be okay. Take it to a good indy shop and have it check out.

 

The one weak spot with the Twin Cam 88 engine is the cam chain tensioners. Find out if the previous owner replaced them or upgraded to a gear drive. If not that might be your first expense. Recommended replacement time is between 20,000 and 30,000 miles depending on who you talk to.
