Have a bad CB Squeal on my 08 UCSE3, when I transmit, it's on all channels. Receives fine, very clear. Tried three different antennas, stock, the HD shorty and the J&M. Has always done this, just getting around to trying to figure it out.

Anybody got any ideas before I let HD tear it up.

It could be a short in your coax, a bad ground at the antenna mount, or a broken wire in your mike. Most likely, a bad ground somewhere.

 

I have not taken a close look at the setup on the Ultras, but look at the base of the antenna. Is there a plastic insulator ring at the bottom? The setup on my truck from the top down is; antenna, nut, plastic ring, stud, mounting bracket, with another nut holding the stud on the underside of the bracket. The coax would then screw into the bottom of the stud. I hope this helps.

 

The fact that it only happens when you transmit might indicate it is in your cable from your mic to the bike or the mic itself is bad and is picking up feed back.

 

At least you got your's to work.. i swear it makes me feel like I am algebra class again reading the owners manual on getting the damn thing to work. I think I have it figured out but then again... Is there anyway to run the CB without the radio being on? I have an 09' if that helps.

I don't think so...I can check tomorow, but I believe the CB gets it power from the radio itself....I could be wrong.

Oh, for what it's worth, my CB sucks big time....I wish I had went with a J&M on my EGC....

 

Lawdawg if you want the c-b on whithout the radio the only way to do that is
to turn the volume of the radio off there are seprate volume controls for the
radio and c-b

 

I've got the same thing on my 2020 Ultra Limited. I added the WHIM so i could eliminate the cable. It receives just fine and seems to transmit fine as well but my voice is accompanied by a screech. Screech seems to be attenuated by the frequency of my voice. if i don't say anything, its silent. Otherwise the WHIM and bluetooth features all work fine. Phone, Intercom, music all good. Just CB transmit.
I have to tell you that i took it to a dealership for help while out on a tour. they said my helmet was bad. Ha Ha ha.. ridiculous solution. got a new helmet and SENA30K, same problem.
