Yep, one giant commercial but the scenery was very nice. Reminds me of my summer trips and gets me in the mood for planning this years trip to Glacier.
I enjoyed the show. Our winters are long and just seeing and hearing a couple of machines roll down the road felt good. I don't care if it was a big info commercial. I just don't understand some of you guys bad mouthing the MOCO all the time. You choose to ride a Harley and you chose to watch the show. If you don't like the machine sell it and if you didn't like the show why didn't you change the channel. That's what I tell my OL when she complains. Your life, your choice.
thought about it some more, and I have to retract some of my earlier comments against the show. I found it a little boring and infomercial-ish, but my wife on the other hand really enjoyed it. I think because she has not done much touring, and it showed her the beauty and how awsome an experience it can be. As a result, I think it may have helped her a little with wanting to move to a bike that is better for longer rides from her current bike... because of that, I am not so down on the show now...
maybe the issue was the target audience... maybe they geared it toward new or non-riders trying to bring more customers into the dealerships.
60 minutes was on at the same time here, Sully saves 155 lives going into the Hudson was a great interview, so I only caught a few shots but I agree w TheShrink. I think there is more good than bad, I liked the plant tour and the memorial run and if you want a hard core bike run make your own and put it out there or flip the channel.
I'm with the glass half full gang - I enjoyed it. It's going to be a long time before I can throw a leg over the new bike. I hope this was just a sampler and there might be more to come. The infomercial aspect was fine with me. How many threads on here are asking details about HD products? Actually I would have liked to seen a little more footage on the heated gear they were using. And they skipped most of their run up to Pen state. Would have been a good chance to ride up through Georgia and catch the Blue Ridge mountains.
Makes me want to save up for a fly-n-ride next year. I'm losing my mind in this salt and snow infested great white north.
