Anyone have a sound clip of these pipes? I am trying to tell how deep the overall rumble is. I thought I found one on youtube, but it turned out to be a Venture. Owners of these pipes, please give your .02
I have them on my 07 RKC and couldnt be happier. Not to loud when at cruise and will bark whan you get on them. Nice low tone. This is my second set. My first RKC had them as well.
I have the V&H basic slip-ons on my 08 EGC. They sound great, I love the sound. By the way, they sound nothing like the above sound clip. Mine are much deeper and louder.
+1 on sounding nothing like the clip posted by roadkingrick.
I heard the V&H basic slip-ons run side by side with a set of Rinehart slip-ons about 3 weeks ago or so. To make a long story short, they both sounded great & neither one is quiet AT ALL! I ended up going with the Rineharts because they had a deeper, more isolated "pop" to them versus the louder, fatter-sounding V&H's. Go to your local dealer & see if they have any bikes there with these pipes installed on them; this is what I did before finally deciding on one. You definately won't be unhappy with either of the two. If you do a search for "rinehart versus vance & hines" or maybe "why not Vance & Hines" you see a longer write-up I did on the differences between the two. I'll see if I can find it for you...
I have them on my -07 Streetglide, and I am completely happy with sound and performance with these mufflers. I run them with a PCIII usb and a K&N filter. They sound like a Harley should, but not too loud, I can hear the stereo over the exhaust when cruising and when I twist the throttle they bark nice.

Talk about digging up an old thread. 5 months old, I think he may have gotten his pipes already
Yup, I did. It was a really tough decision, but I went with Rinehart slip-ons. Heard both V&H & Rinehart slip-ons side by side. The V&H's were louder with a "fatter" sound. The Rinehart's weren't as loud, but had an awesome deep, solid & isolated tone to them that didn't tend to "wander-off" like the V&H's. They both sounded amazing & I still think they're the two best sounding pipes on the market today. If I had a Dyna or Softail, then I definately, without-a-doubt would have went with V&H's. But for my bagger, I'm not trying to be as loud but more deeper-toned. I just personally think the sound of Rineharts just compliment perfectly the look of baggers better than any other exhaust. Just my own personal preference & to each's own.
