I currently have a 6 1/2" on my bike (nothing custom) and it's good but I think for my height (same as yours at 5'10"), the 8" will work best.
Because of the recurve the 8" works like a 10" you should be in high cotton.

Google "Half Moon Wings". Nice folks to deal with. Not sure about the "recurve" but worth it to ask.

I'm 6'1" and have the 8" recurve on my Ultra.I love this shield!I look over it so rain does get me but the alternative is looking thru a shield that you can't see thru in the rain.I get no buffeting without my helmet but with the helmet i do get a little.Next windshield I buy WILL be another clearview period!

I'm 5'101/2"", and the stock Ultra shield is right in line with my vision unless I sit up real straight. What do you guys think would work best fo r me?

hdstreetglide08 I have the 9" dark smoke and love it. I'm 6'5" and it does the job unitl you get above 80 mph
Sounds like these shields are good up to around 70 - 80 mph, but then what? My point is at higher speeds, do they present more wind noise, buffeting, or other? Just curious. I've got a Cee Baileys on the way, but windshields are like shoes! Different shields for different occasions. Just curious about these at higher speeds since I cruise the Interstate at higher speeds a lot.....

Check this one out... It works great, reduces wind noise. http://www.customflhtwindshields.net...gallery1-7.jpg

5' 10" and a bit - 8" recurve. Best shield I've had. See way over it. Do feel a bit of air on the top of my hat at 75 mph+

5'10" with a 9 1/2" with Recurve - I could do 100 with this and would have no buffeting. My wife loves it too. And you look OVER it.
I have not tried an 8", but I can tell by reaching my hand up to see where the buffeting starts, an 8" might be just a little too short.

BTW- by a scratched one- when it comes, you will not be able to figure out where the scratches are - they are VERY picky.
