I have an '09 FLTR on order and like the wheels but wish the MOCO had offered a chrome option other than spokes. How many of you have sent your wheels to have them chromed and what did it cost? Did you also chrome the rotors?
Nice choice of bikes! You'll love the Road Glide for sure. Vivid Black was my second or third choice of colors and it does look good with the blue pinstriping on it. In the HD Accessory catalog, they show a two page spread of a vivid black FLTR with many HD mods done and it looks really good. Enjoy the bike!
Chrome pro's $650.00 for the chrome, add bearings and tire change to the price...and a $600 core charge if you dont want to have your bike down for a month

But yes, they look much better!
+1 on your wheels. IMO the 09 wheels in chrome are really sharp and good price. I thought Impress Plating was doing them for $545 and I see a pair on ebay fr SurfCity for 525 exchange.
I think they mean "chrome" by saying the hub section is chromed. It really doesnt look like the actual braking surface is chromed... and if you THINK about it, the rotor wears just as the pads do. the actual mirror finish "chrome" is only about .0003-.0005 thick (according to the chrome engineer from York that I worked with last year) therefore if you bought a "chromed rotor" you'd be through the chrome and staring down at a "gold" rotor within.. oh.. I'd say maybe 2-3 months of city riding...

Exactly, that's why I said "eventually, it'll start to flake and chip" in my first post.
Usually, only the show bikes use chrome rotors because they're not rode enough to wear the chrome down.
