Default Fog light question

Are all the connections for the fog lights (that mount on the crash bars) made inside the fairing on a SG?
Or would I need to pull the fuel tank for any reason.
If someone that has done this could give me an install step by step if would be appreciated.

Also, do the fog lights have a switch of their own or are they wired to the low or high beam headlight circuit? Do they use a relay?

Dealer wants 1.5 hours labor plus the cost of the lights! I might tackle it myself if not too involved.
Thanks in advance!

Default fog lights

Wiring runs under the fuel tank as the power connector is located by the battery. But removing the tank is easy on the 08. I recently installed the HD fogs on my 08 SG and was not looking forward to removing the tank, but it was a piece of cake.

I decided to wire the lights into the SG's accessory switch instead of using the handlebar switch that comes with the kit. This is an easy mod that requires purchase of an Y connector for the accessory plug that is also by the battery. once this is wired up you activate the fogs by the accessory switch on the fairing cap.

I'd be happy to provide details of the accessory switch wiring if you are interested.

I suggest you forego the supplied push button switch .

The supplied push button mounts to clutch clamp screw and looks kindy hokey. It also adds another exterior wire run to your bars.

I've got mine wired to trigger off passing lights, plus I swapped my passing light switch with the acessory switch so it's on the left vs right.
