CD player during cold weather

Default CD player during cold weather
CD player does not want to play well below 40 degrees. Anyone having this issue or is it normal? Skips sometimes and when really cold it might just not play at all until I remove the disk and re-insert it.

The disk fogs up quick with any temp change like pulling bike out into the cold from a garage or the heat off the radio. This happens in my truck sometimes. I just use a mini mp3 player now. Sandisk clipit 2 gb and a small piece of double stick tape to the dash. 100s of songs and no disk.

Talking cold weather CD
I live in Colorado and haven't yet had this problem, but the MP3/Ipod player is a good idea. I have a Garmin Nuvi GPS 780 that is loaded with music and great for navigation (although I never get lost)

Same here. Skips and occassionally stalls when cold.

I have the same problem in my car - Especially with MP3's. The CIRC logic algorithms work for PCM data (standard CD's) but aren't applicable to MP3 data.

Long story, but nothing unusual.

Had Bruce Springsteen jammin at 32 degrees the other morning, no skips. Just lucky I guess.

Never had the problem here, but is there anyway other than changing out the whole unit to get it to play MP3 format on burned CD's, I do have the HA 90 but am curios about the player, (2003)

Nope, can't upgrade your unit (as per the manufacturer), and you can't upgrade to the newer unit either.
