Is anybody using these with the stock headpipes? My SE slip ons are starting to sound like jackhammers and I have been considering the Touring mufflers. The dream book says they are "50 state legal" which I think translates into "quiet." I have been told they are louder than stock but quieter than the SE series. What do you think? Thanks in advance.
I have the touring mufflers on my EG Classic. I like them because they are louder and give better prformance than stock, but are not as loud as the SE's. I like a little sound, but I don't like loud.
I ran the touring mufflers for a while with the stock headpipes, but did end up with V&H true duels. Either way they sound good not to loud, but louder than stock along with a little better performance. I really like the sound of the true duels and the touring mufflers. (05 Ultra)
If you want your bike to run efficiently, yes! Don't waste your money on the dealer's Stage I download. The PCIII or SERT module is a necessity if you want to get the best performance out of your Tru Duals. Of course, you can change the exhaust and not do the download, but you'll be running very lean, very hot, and much less power and torque at certain throttle settings.
A nice complete system: Exhaust, Stage I air cleaner, PCIII or SERT, and a complete Dyno tune will run you around $1,500. Money well-spent IMO.

Will the touring mufflers need a computer download or a Power Commander module
