Default '09 Vivid black RG

Mine is on order and I'd love to see some pics of what yours looks like and what you've done to it. I've got plans, lots of plans, big plans, if only I could get started NOW!

What is you favorite thing about the bike? What about your biggest disappoinment? What is your favorite mod and what do you have planned? I've got a clearview windshield on order and the SERG headlight cover.

Time creeps by when you're waiting on a new bike. I feel like the little boy waiting on Christmas thinking that it will never get here.

You sure don't sound too excited Love the ride. Vivid Black and chrome is a winner although some of the Dark Knights that you have probably seen on the forum are just way too cool !! I thought about going all black but I'm too far the other way now. Putting some rear lights and chrome on now.
The best addition for the bike recently is a finish called Glare.

Goodluck and show us some pics

Congrats man - welcome to the fastest color club!

I LOVE my 08 RG - and my list of wanted mods is long...

The only things I've done are:

HiFlow AC, V&H Slip ons, assorted chrome covers, floorboard inserts, SERT, low profile windshield, the CVO headlight trim, engine guard and the hogtunes speaker package...

I've got an FLHX rear fascia being painted right now, and a lower fairing support bar on order. (To eliminate the engine guard)

The FLTR is a beautiful "blank canvas." Have fun with it!

The only thin I don't like about it - after selling my FLSTF is the "cool factor" that my fatboy had.

I'm sure THAT statement opened up a flame war... Not my intent.

Again - welcome to the club man!

My 09 RG just came in last week.
Lets see.
Vivid black
Inner fairing will be painted vivid black as well.
SE slipons,intake,map.
Clearview
Security
ABS
Luggage rack,detachable
Wheeldock center stand
Moto lights
Harley compass
Put heated grips on,cant remember which ones.
Some chrome doodads. Strip under the windshield Chrome covers on the bottoms of the passanger floorboards. Not that much really.
Put a back rest on the seat.Keeping the stock seat for now.Have my heart set on a Russell Day Long.
If I find the stock rotors start rusting like my stock 05s did there history.
Im thinking it should be a fine machine for doing some traveling this summer.

Saw one just like yours at the dealer yesterday. Not a big fan of Vivid Black myself anyways. Sure a nice scoot as I never drove a RG before. If I ever have the chance someday...I will get on the saddle and see why they are f-ugly, LOL.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Saw*Me - what's "Glare"?

Jayman720 - I have a custom dyna that has all the cool factor I need. Anyway I think the sharknose roadie is pretty damn cool in its own right.

I was at a poker run last fall with about 500 bikes, I was thinking about a RG at the time and only found ONE in the group. I talked to the guy about his bike and couldn't get over how much he loved that scoot. At the time I was thinking about getting rid of my '08RKC and buy either a RG or SG; I wanted ABS and the new frame and a real touring bike with a fairing. I spent hours reading reviews on the internet and literally reading hundreds of posts in various threads on this site. In the end the decision was very easy.

I definately think I made the right decision.
