I love the black and chrome engines, but if you do a silver engine up just right it looks good too. I just recently did a chrome engine kit on my 04 FLHT. I didn't buy any kit. I pieced all the parts from different places.
Labor was free since I did it myself. I was able to save enough money to get a Biketronics radio for $486 with Hogtune Speakers.
The Harley chrome engine kit is like $750 and it includes the gaskets, but you have to buy the chrome hardware kits for the cam, primary, and transmission and each cost between $30-$40 a piece. I also priced the V-Twin Manufacturing kit which includes the gaskets and chrome hardware but it is like $900.
Black denim (flat black) ALL THE WAY. Great looking bike theres a guy on here with one looks lowered and has all flat black exhaust with monster ovals.
That would be me I think although there are quite a few denim black standards here now. Some even look just like mine.

I'm not into all the chrome and such. When I saw the denim black, I knew it was what I wanted. I honestly think the MoCo knew what they were doing when they came up with this bike. Flat paint, silver motor, polished parts, no radio, etc. all goes with this bike. Kind of like a no frills bike, but it has the best part, DENIM BLACK! I did ask about a SG in denim black, but I'm glad they didn't offer it because I probably would have got it and wasted ALOT of $$$$.
I love the standard because it has allowed me to do what I want without wasting any $$$$$. I have added an Alpine HU along with an iPod that I can control with the HU. Installed Alpine component speakers with a ARC amp.
I believe my bike is a perfect example of less is more. I plan on doing a wheel and handlebar swap along with blacking out some parts, but that's it.
YOWSA!!!!! You guys got some nice stuff! I'll certainly consider the denim package. Also, love that chrome kit on that black standard. Does the MOCO sell the chrome package in one unit, or do you have to get it piece by piece?
