I took the auto train down to FL with my cage as well. I was majorly impressed with every step for the trip, it was all top-notch. I will also second the guys that suggested bumping up to a roomette, well worth the coin if you have it.

Why won't it fall over during the day?? :-))

Took Autotrain from FL to VA last year...only issue was that the support for the tour pack broke in half on the right side. Filed a claim right there in the station, had the part replaced at Patriot H-D in Fairfax (on my dime). Got home to FL, Faxed repair receipt to Autotrain and had a check for full repair in 4 days.
When your bike offloads BE SURE to check EVERYTHING CAREFULLY before you drive out of the parking lot.

I did the CAT last 4th of July out of Portland. They loaded the scoots as a group. We were responsible for tying down our own scoots. There wasn't a whole lot of room to work with and I didn't like the way I had to secure it. I had to leave it in gear on the jiffy stand with just one strap over the seat, left to right. It was a 5 hour trip and I worried the entire time. Including the CAT, we did 5 ferries on that road trip. I tied down on just one other ferry going over to PEI. Again, you were on your own and the tie down was the same as on the CAT. The other 3 were short hops and not much to worry about.

Other than a ferry or breakdown to the shop, I'm riding my bike wherever I'm headed to.

There was a thread on this a while back where the member posted photos of the whole process of loading up on the auto train out of Fl. Did a search and could not find it. Remember to put your bike in transport mode if you do not leave the fob in the saddlebag as suggested in the other post.
