I know, I know, this is as bad as an oil thread, (LOL) but I'm trying to decide what to go with here on my 09 SG.
My dilema:
# 1 choice...I really like the looks and quality of the Monster Ovals but after researching and listening to a sh#t-load of sound clips I'm wondering if they might be a lttle too qiuet for me.
# 2 choice...I'm also thinking of a set of tip-compatible Rush cans with a 1.75 baffles. I've Heard these and the db level is about perfect for me
Has anyone heard and compared these first hand ? If the MO's are the same db's or close, I'll probably go with them. Pricey, but they sure are purdy <G> and I dont want to make the mistake spending that much and not being happy with sound level.
Have the rush 2.0 and love the sound. I burned part of the packing out before i had the bike tuned so i just pulled the rest out and like the sound more. A few options in sound can be had with rush. They are much louder than the ovals. I went to look at them(ovals) and the place i went cranked up the bike. Very sweet low base sound that i also liked and love the look but the problem i had was the price. Way overpriced to me for what you get. If the price was comparable i might have changed mine out but for now i will just keep my rush.
I have both. I have Rush w/2" baffles and stock heads on my 09 Heritage Classic and Monster Ovals w/Dresser Duals on my 09 EGS although the sound is very different they are very similar is loudness to my ear. Just remember loudness is different to every one. My girlfriend likes a lot louder pipe than I do and we are constantly debating which is louder. To me they are both on the edge of being to loud, she wishes they were a LOT louder.

So, from what I'm reading the MO's are a deeper have a deeper "fatter" sound and the rush have a more of a "sharper edge" with the loudness being the same?

To my ear that is correct, although most say they are not loud at all. And I can tell you for sure that all those you-tube videos I have heard are no where near the true sound of the Monster Ovals. Just my opinion of coarse.

I forgot... the headers you have them on makes a difference too, if they are on the stock headers they will have less volume then on the Dresser Duals or the Power Duals.
