Default cracked pipe

I know this is a common problem, rear pipe cracked at the mounting bracket at the starter area. How long will Rinehart warranty them for? I put them on less than a year ago. Web site says 90 days, but if this is a common problem will they do anyting for me?

I bought a set this past Feb. I was told by the dealer that I did in fact get the "New and Improved" bracket. However, I have been told by a few guys that I really have the old mounting bracket set-up. I was also told that the "New Bracket" mounts on the primary.
What's you opinion on that. I'm concerned, because I would rather avoid a problem down the road, especially if I'm on a road trip.

Thanks in advance

Thanks chopperchuck,

My header has that clamp you speak of. It fastens to a bracket that is bolted to the starter. Another rider told me and showed me his bracket and it is bolted to the rear end of the primary cover. His was black and he told me that Rinehart has the same bracket in chrome also.

I probably should give them a call. I've heard from just about every rinehart customer that their service department is second to none.

The very First design had the tab over the starter and the one mount at the end of the mufler.

The Second design was the mount on the rear end of the primary eliminating the mount over the starter. This caused some bikes to have a vibration from the mount contacting the passenger foot board mounts.

The Third and current design is the "Saddle" mount over the starter.

BUB sent me a new pipe with the Primary mount but I had welded my original cracked pipe and kept running that so I could ride untill it arrived. I just kept ridding it. Then they came out with the Saddle mount and I called them again and they sent that out as well. When doing my engine build I finally installed the new pipe but I used the New Saddle mount and Moddified there Primary Mount and used that as well.

As I said earlyer there customer service has been great.
Good luck
Rich
