I was replacing my inner fairing with a painted one and sure enough, just as I was told, one of the brackets was broken. I had a buddy of mine weld it instead of buying a new one and I hope it will hold, and the other one, but I'm sure the other one will at some point break and have to be welded as well. My question is, is there an aftermarket, upgrade, better bracket available, I'm not paying for Harley ones that will again break, I'll just keep welding them before I'll do that.
I cant answer your question, but can you post a pic of the crack in the bracket and is it possible to see the crack if one were to look in that area during a normal maintenance inspection?
no upgrades available from the dealer. best way is to use a small l bracket from a hardware store and drill mount holes. will hold longer than any weld or factory bracket. crak appears at the top of the bracket in the l section
