Jeez... haven't even got it yet and you wanna do major engine work? You do what you want, it's your money, but I'd leave well enough alone and just ride.

I agree, just do the stage 1 stuff for now and ride her, I believe you'll be suprised. Then do the big-bore later on down the road if you still feel like you need to do it.

Seeing that you are coming from a sport bike, I would recomend going with an aftermarket company for serious HP and more importnantly TQ!!!!! HD makes nice pieces, do not get me wrong, but they do not compete with aftermarket. HQ, T-Man, GMR are very repituble(sp?) companies to deal with. Just make sure you get the dealer to offer the warranty in writing.

Just make sure all the parts compliment each other.

If you decide to just do a stage one... pipes, intake and a tuner.... I highly suggest a setup from Fuel Moto... no dyno time needed, simple to install and fantastic map and a hell of a lot cheaper cost wise than HD dealer installed stuff. Usually HD stuff like the SERT or SEST you will need a dyno.. and if the dyno tuner guy sucks, you will have tons of decible popping. Save at least 500 or more and get a setup from Fuel Moto. Great quality I can say so myself.

I have SERT and tune myself, no dyno time. I had a learning curve for a bit, but no decel pop. Actully I never had decel pop on my SERT bike. Just another opinion. Jamie is a good guy though if you go for the PC-V. SERS is another option. I think stage 1 will bore you.

I hope I don't get bored too fast. Right now If I decide to go Stage 1, I'm looking at doing the SERT, but haven't decided if I want to do slip ons or full exhaust. Might just do slip ons for right now so I don't loose too much bottom end torque. Looking at either Bub 7's or Reinharts. I' have no idea what type of intake I want to do right now. Since I eventually want to put lowers on the bike I can't get anything too big.

Fuel Moto sells Bubs, Rush, SuperTrap and their own Jackpots. Several different tuners, if you just gota have a SEST.. might try the TTS master tune instead which you can get from them as well. I do not make any money suggesting Fuel Moto to you, but I did save a lot and their knowledge and customer service is number 1....besides their products.

My setup from them is Dyno Tuned Jackpots, SE intake with a cleanable (K&N like) filter and a Power Commander V with their extensively tested/tuned map for that exact setup.
14HP and 14Torque above stock gives ya quite a bit of power. And sounds great on a harley.

I would do the 103 stage ll. Right from the get go that way everything breaks in at the same time and you dont have to loose time riding for the later up grade , if you are questioning your self now you`ll end up doing it anyway. Not to mention everything done at the time of purchase, your warranty will have no issues . just a thought....

I, too, was once in Afghanistan pondering what I should do to the bike I just ordered. I am also a former Yamaha R1 owner. Here is my suggestion: Do the stage one upgrade. Ride it while you determine what Aftermarket company is going to get your dollars. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the get up and go you have just from the stage one. If afterwards you are still wanting to do rolling burnouts and wheelies, then go with a company like HQ or ones that others have suggested. Everything I have read suggests that there is more performance to be gained from the Aftermarket. You only want to do this upgrade one time to save yourself some scratch!

m.a.c.

I don't know what you do in Afghanistan, (I was there in 07-08 and it was dangerous) but whatever it is, keep your head down and stay safe until your return to the US.
